FAQ

How do I know if my child needs tutoring?
Your child may need tutoring if:

  • A teacher or other school personnel recommends tutoring.
  • You feel your child is not progressing satisfactorily in school.
  • You notice a change in your child’s attitude about school or grades.
  • You would like to enhance your child’s academic experience.

How many students meet with a tutor at the same time?
Each tutor meets with one student at a time. This one-on-one attention minimizes distractions and allows the tutor to focus on the specific needs of each child.

Will my child have the same tutor each time he/she comes to Foundation for Learning?
Absolutely! It’s important for the tutor to understand the on-going needs of your child.

How often should my child have tutoring sessions?
The frequency of tutoring sessions varies. Generally however, tutoring sessions are conducted on a weekly basis at a minimum, and more frequently if required.

When should my child begin SAT/ACT or other test preparation?
At Foundation for Learning we recommend beginning test preparation sessions as early as possible. This minimizes the stress often associated with testing and allows time to adequately prepare for the different sections of the exams.

Having said this, we suggest that students begin preparing a minimum of 12 weeks before the scheduled testing date.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check and major credit cards. Payment is due upon completion of each session.
